October 12th, 2004

Acapela Group, European leader in speech solutions will attend the ID Dagarna accessibility tradeshow in Stockholm, demonstrating its latest version of Infovox Desktop Pro, designed to visually impaired people, and demonstrating the high quality of Acapela's new Norwegian voice. Acapela's Infovox Desktop PRO allows users to have a selected text read, listen to the spelling of a text while it is being written, access a computer through a screen reader, and add voice output to other computer applications, thereby making computers more accessible for both visually impaired and learning disabled users.

Infovox Desktop PRO is now available in Acapela's new Norwegian voice – Kari - answering the Norwegian market's demand for a high end, natural sounding text to speech solution. Tore Simensen, General Manager of Bo Jo Tveter, an distributor of aids and solutions for visually impaired people, is very impressed with quality of the Norweigian voice, “Kari is so natural that it is almost impossible to distinguish the difference between a recorded human voice and a speech synthesis”, he insists.

Kari already voice enables two key Phoneticom accessibility products distributed by Bo Jo Tveter:

› ReadSpeaker, a web page reader.
› Phoneticom Daisy Generator, a publication system allowing the creation of talking books from electronic originals in HTML or XML format.

Acapela's Infovox Desktop PRO, in Norwegian as well as in 7 other high quality voices, including Swedish, English, German and French will be on display at:
